It’s here! The Con for Bots and Cons from all parties. The USA crew of Sal, Greg and Andy sit down on a Sunday afternoon to sort through all the slides from the 3rd party panel. But before that, some Transformer acquisitions!
Don’t worry kids. Even though we recorded this on April 1. No shenanigans or tomfoolery took place. Even that price on the Chogokin R2-D2 is on the level. Enjoy the show and we should have 169 out there in a few days!
Before Repacked hits the big 150, Sal Craig and Andy sat down to talk about the reveals of the 3rd party panel at TFCon Chicago. They covered only the new reveals since the last TFCon so please use the slides from TFW2005 with the show notes to navigate and judge for yourself!
Still reeling from the deluge of news discussed in the Tamashii show we jump back into our acquisitions. Kyle backs team Cap, Sal feels trapped by his jaw, Vince goes for the gold in Barbados, and boy can Craig Drag-on. The extraordinary fanboy then delivers an unintentional double dose of crack as we plan to play Repacked Monopoly and discuss the latest boy band to come on the scene.
Here’s a deep personal secret of mine that I have never told anyone, mostly ‘because no one would care: I have never finished a game of Monopoly.
I know, I know, but honestly I have never found the game to be particularly engaging, in fact I don’t think I’ve seen anyone playing it in years, which is why I am more than baffled that there are currently like a million, billion different versions of the game out there, from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Mass Effect. Seriously, Zelda Monopoly I could understand but Street Fighter Monopoly? How does that even work!?
Anyways, my question for you is, Is there any particular reason for this Monopoly revival? Like, did the game suddenly got much more entertaining or is there some sort of underground, Fight Club-esque ring of monopoly players that I am unaware of? I am still not playing the game but I would really like to know.
And speaking of things I would like to know for no real reason…
BONUS CRACK QUESTION:
If democracy suddenly collapsed and were replaced with a global Dance-based monarchy, which toys from your collection (at least two) would you choose to be part of your very own Dance troupe?
PS: Abruptly changing the subject, I liked Batman V Superman but the editing on that movie was downright terrible.
Hoping for a Batman V Monopoly movie, Ivanhobe, The Extraordinary Fanboy.
